2026 ICRI Metro New York President’s Address
Max McCarthy
Dear Members and Friends of the ICRI Metro New York Chapter:
It is both an honor and a privilege to serve as President of the Metro New York ICRI Chapter. I am sincerely grateful for your continued support, engagement, and dedication to our mission. I would also like to extend my deepest appreciation to our immediate past president, Kenny Hopfensperger, whose leadership and steady guidance over the past two years have positioned our chapter for continued success.
As we look ahead, it is important to reflect on the accomplishments of 2025—a year defined by meaningful connection, industry advancement, and strong community spirit. We began the year with our always-popular FISP/Ask the DOB event, followed by the April Access Event, and continued with a standout spring season featuring our second annual Awards Night and our inaugural Young Professionals Trivia Night. Summer brought energy and camaraderie with our fishing trip and golf invitational, and the fall season delivered high‑quality technical programming—including a presentation on ACI 563‑25 and another exceptional Demo Day focused on Concrete Repair 101. We concluded the year on a celebratory note with our annual holiday gathering in December.
As we enter the new year, we remain committed to offering a balance of fresh ideas and time‑honored traditions. Building on the success of our first Young Professionals event, we are excited to host both spring and fall programs designed to support emerging leaders in our field. Our technical calendar is shaping up to be equally compelling, beginning with a March 4th presentation at Club 101—Documentation and Modeling Technologies in Architectural Terra Cotta Restoration—as well as an exciting new technical program slated for April. Please stay tuned to our website and chapter communications for the full lineup of upcoming events.
I look forward to seeing many of you throughout the year. I am continually inspired by the dedication of our board members, committee volunteers, and the broader membership whose contributions make our work possible. If you are interested in becoming more involved, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or any member of the board—we welcome your participation and enthusiasm.
Thank you once again for your commitment to the Metro New York ICRI Chapter. Together, we will continue to strengthen our community and advance our industry.
